About — Arvind Pandey IPS Bihar

Born into a pilgrimage-priest family of Vindhyachal (Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh), Arvind Pandey is a 1988-batch IPS officer of the Bihar cadre.

Born on 15 June 1963 in Vindhyachal. His father Pandit Lalchand Pandey was a noted social reformer. Devotion to Shri Krishna and Maa Vindhyavasini shaped his early life.

After an M.A. in Sanskrit (Philosophy) from Allahabad University, he cleared the Civil Services Examination in 1987 on the first attempt and joined the Indian Police Service. Optional subjects: Sanskrit and Philosophy.

Across postings he became known for Creative Policing, dispute resolution without endless litigation, anti-corruption action, and leadership in Civil Defence.
